Introduction to AI

Halfway through the semester, we received an introductory lecture on artificial intelligence (AI), prompted by our chosen topic for our conference. The lecture, given by Jurrien, provided a thorough foundation for our general knowledge of AI. Jurriuenen took the time to explain the concept of AI and introduced us in an accessible manner to the fascinating world of artificial intelligence.

What made the lecture particularly interesting was the practical component. We had the opportunity to work with an AI program, making the abstract concepts tangible. This interactive approach kept the lecture dynamic and allowed us to actively participate in the learning process. It was refreshing not only to listen but also to gain hands-on experience with AI.

While the lesson offered a valuable introduction, I must honestly say that there was some overlap with the information we had already acquired during a previous conference. Although it is always good to review the basics, I had hoped for more in-depth and new insights. Nevertheless, it was fascinating to discover the capabilities of AI, even if some of the information was familiar territory.

In the future, I could inform the instructors in advance about our existing knowledge level regarding the chosen topic. By indicating beforehand which aspects of the subject we have already covered or which conferences we have attended, instructors can better tailor their lessons to our needs. This would not only prevent us from receiving repeated information but also provide the opportunity to delve deeper into more advanced and complex aspects of the topic. A personalized approach would enhance the effectiveness of the lessons and enable us to fully benefit from the expertise of the instructors.
